Elks Group Campground

Coconino National Forrest

The elevation at this group campground is at a cool 6,500 feet in an area of the Coconino National Forest where the Ponderosa pine begin to turn to Pinyon and Juniper.

The campground is located on the West side of 87 approximately 60 miles NE of Payson.

The fee for this event is just $20 per family for the entire weekend.

Directions:

Take AZ 87 (Arizona/Country Club) North past Payson (~35miles). Continue North on AZ 87 past Clints Well for another 20 miles to milepost 309.9 (approx. 60miles NE of Payson). Turn left and go about 1/4 mile to the campground.

About The Park:

At 6500 feet, this rolling highland is a land of ponderosa pine forests and pinyon, juniper woodlands clustered around broad prairies on a fenced 5-acre campsite.

Amenities: Hiking trails, a covered bandstand with a stage, picnic tables, horseshoe court, a small playground, fireplaces, grills and vault toilets. There is NO Drinking Water and NO Trash collection.
